With her talent, passion and personality, she embodied a precise ideal of an opera diva. In some of the greatest opera houses, from La Scala in Milan to the Opéra de Paris and the Metropolitan Opera House in New York, she was known as “La Divina”. The edition emphasises one of her favourite colours, turquoise, in the precious resin of the barrel and cap, while the slim, elegant silhouette reflects Maria Callas’ graceful beauty. To evoke her home country surrounded by the sea, Greece, the platinum-coated clip is embellished with a synthetic stone whose colour is reminiscent of the bright turquoise blue of the Aegean Sea. A costume detail from Bellini’s “Norma”, one of her most iconic roles in terms of “bel canto”, is reflected in the laurel leaf motif that surrounds the edition’s platinum-coated cone, along with the embossing of the renowned soprano’s signature.
